Girlguiding at Bath Digital Festival

by | Nov 2, 2019

Girlguiding Bath teamed up with Bath Digital Festivalto encourage more girls and young women to learn about computer systems and cyber security.

40 girls attended two workshops, where they learnt how to create and crack secret codes, designed their own robots and found out how computer viruses can spread. They also made jewellery based on binary code, hid messages in newspapers and designed their own Internet of Things-enabled home.

The activities were based on Girlguiding South West England’s SWEBot On the Net resource, developed in partnership with GCHQ, NCSC and CyberFirst.

Here are some snaps of the day – thanks to Johanna from 39th Guides who assisted as our event photographer!
