Making sure new volunteers are on GO

It’s great when new volunteers are encouraged to join us. Parents, carers or family members of girls, or friends, colleagues or relations of existing volunteers can often be persuaded to join us with a bit of encouragement.

If you do welcome a new volunteer into your unit, whether they are an adult or young volunteer (such as a someone working towards their Duke if Edinburgh award), and whether they are helping every week or a few times a term, please let your DC know.

All volunteers should be recorded on GO (which is quick and easy to do) and your commissioner can advise whether a DBS and safe space training is needed.
