St Luke’s Guides Receive Baden Powell Award

by | Mar 15, 2017

Three Guides from 1st Bath (St Luke’s) Guides celebrated the completion of their Baden Powell Awards this week, marking the occasion with a presentation ceremony and a party.

The Baden Powell Award is the highest award that a Guide can achieve and represents the completion of a number of challenges.

Katy, Sophia and Amy worked together on their award, which involved running activities for the other Guides including a cookery competition and Glastonbury Festival themed evening. They also challenged themselves to do something outside of their comfort zone by taking part in the Guide Messenger Service at the Bath and West Show. This was one of the highlights of the award for the girls.

The three girls will now move up to Senior Section, where they are looking forward to taking on more challenges. Sophia is already working on her Duke of Edinburgh Award, inspired by her experiences at Guides, and is volunteering with a Brownie unit as a Young Leader.

Congratulations to all three girls for completing your award – we are all very proud of you!
