Woodland Trust community tree planting

As part of their Big Climate Fightback, the Woodland Trust are giving away trees to school and community groups so everybody in the UK has the chance to plant a tree.

This could be an excellent opportunity for units to get involved with some community planting. There are a variety of different sized packs available, from a pack of 15 saplings for residential areas with limited communal space, to up to 420 to create different types of woodland.

Applications are being accepted now for their next batch of trees, which would be delivered in November, for planting between then and March. More information can be found on the Woodland Trust website:
