Young Member Enquiries

by | Feb 27, 2019

A massive thank you to everyone who has spent time getting their unit GO records up to date ahead of this year’s subscription!

Whilst preparing for this year’s subscriptions, we found a number of girls waiting to join who had potential start dates on GO that were in the past.

We thought it would be useful to remind you that the potential start date should be the date when you expect the girl to actually join your unit, not the date when the girl becomes old enough to join. If the girl decides not to join on this date for any reason, you should update the potential start date. If the parents do not respond to your invitations, you should mark the enquiry as “decided not to join”.

Knowing when you expect girls to actually start is really important for your District Commissioners, as it helps them to plan where extra volunteers or new units might be needed, or where we may need to focus on recruiting more girls in the near future. However, if units are using the “potential start date” in different ways, it becomes difficult to see exactly where we stand.

If you have any questions about using GO to manage your unit, or if you are struggling to keep GO updated for any reason, please contact your District Commissioner to ask for help.
