DBS Checks Resume

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks can now resume as COVID 19 restrictions are easing.

If your DBS is due to be renewed, you should receive an email from Girlguiding HQ. Please contact your District Commissioner to organise a check.

DBS checks can be carried out outside and our DBS ID Verifiers will follow COVID safe practices. The check itself is very quick and easy – you just need to show three forms of identification, including one photo ID and one proof of address. Most people show a passport, driving licence and a recent utility bill, but a full list of options is available from your DC.

DBS checks are an extremely important part of our safeguarding processes, so it is important that you have a valid DBS check recorded on GO. Unfortunately, we cannot accept DBS checks that have been carried out by other organisations.

We have a lot of DBS checks to process, so please get in touch with your DC as soon as you receive your first reminder from HQ so we can book a convenient time and place to carry out your check.
