As an organisation, we’re committed to safeguarding best practice, and that means ensuring we can be proud of where we have done this well, and look into where we haven’t, both now and in the past, to ensure guiding remains a safe space for everyone.

This review is an opportunity to look back and reflect on any incidents that happened in the past that you decided not to report at the time as you weren’t sure, or it wasn’t appropriate to do so.

Your District Commissioner may have spoken to you about this already – either individually or at a District Meeting. If you have any concerns that you think should be reported as part of the review, please speak to your District Commissioner – no matter how long ago the incident occurred. Anything you disclose will be treated in complete confidence.

If you don’t feel comfortable talking to your District Commissioner, you can contact the Historic Safeguarding Team directly either by email at historicreview@girlguiding.org.uk or by telephone on 020 7834 6242 (ext 2036). However, please can you let your District Commissioner know that you have made a disclosure, as HQ has asked us to keep a record of the number of disclosures made in our area as part of this review.
