What will I do?

You will be part of a team whose role is to support our Rainbow, Brownie and Guide leaders and our trustees with a number of finance related tasks.

As part of a team you will help with some of the following:

• Assisting the events team with preparing simple budgets and managing finances (payments and receipts) for events.
• Support and advice to leaders on accounts and gift aid.
• Annual compliance check for unit bank accounts.
• Support to units setting up/closing bank accounts and changing signatories.
• Review annual accounts and budget, and flag any concerns.

What skills will I need?

• Ability to use Microsoft Excel/Google sheets and email
• Ability to communicate clearly
• An eye for detail
• An awareness of cash accounts is useful for some of these roles.

This role is open to any adult with relevant experience. We ask for a commitment of around 2 hours per month, but this can be done flexibly and at your home.

We ask all Girlguiding volunteers to complete recruitment checks.

Who will support me?

You will be working as part of a small team of volunteers within the finance team, which is part of a wider support team.

The following training and support is available:

• Access to Girlguiding training courses which includes accounts and gift aid.
• Reimbursement of agreed expenses.
• A clear complaints procedure to help sort out any problems or disagreements.
• Support from fellow volunteers.
