Getting to Grips with the New Programme

We were delighted to see over 75 volunteers from across Bath Division at the Somerset North County New Programme Training sessions this week. Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed – especially our trainers, Rosie and Judy! We hope you were all found these sessions helpful and were inspired to try out some of the new materials this term.

If you were unable to make a training session, you can catch up by completing the Programme Overview e-learning. This should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. You can find the e-learning at http://training.girlguiding.org.uk/programme/overview.

You also read the changeover guidelines relevant to your section at the following links:

There is obviously a lot for us all to learn and the Division Exec are very keen to help unit teams adapt in whatever way we can. There were lots of constructive suggestions at each of the training sessions, including requests for Division equipment packs that can be shared round for activities that need specific equipment, and creative ideas about how to manage the requirement to record the girls’ progress on GO.

If there is something you would like to see the Division doing to help you with the new programme, please contact Kirsty at divisioncommissioner@girlguidingbath.org.uk.

There will be further training organised by the County on Saturday 24th November (details to follow). We are also keen to organise a few more informal meetings early in the new year for volunteers to come together and share their experiences of the new programme materials, and any solutions they have developed within their units that could be useful for others.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of the new programme, please chat with your District Commissioner to see how she can help.
